Biography: John Michael Schert, Executive Director and Dancer, Trey McIntyre Project
John Michael Schert was instrumental in the formation of the Trey McIntyre Project (TMP) as a summer touring company in 2004 and in the company’s evolution to a full-time, innovative, celebrated force in the contemporary dance world. As both TMP Executive Director and a TMP dancer, Schert possesses a unique insight into the art and process of the company, which has made him a highly sought-after panelist and speaker. Schert helped establish TMP as the first ever City of Boise Economic Development Cultural Ambassador and his efforts helped TMP become one of four American dance companies selected to showcase contemporary American dance internationally as part of DanceMotion USA, a cultural exchange program organized by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State in collaboration with the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
