A message from Yonsei GSIS Graduate Student Association & the Academic Conference Organizing Committee:

Dear Prospective Guest,
To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of its founding, Yonsei University GSIS will host an academic conference onTuesday, June 5, 2012, to explore the issues involved with reworking the idea of Western hegemony in 2012. The theme of this conference is, "Beyond the New Millennium: End of Western Hegemony?"
Over three sessions focusing on politics, economics, and culture, the conference will showcase the research of current and past Yonsei University GSIS students.  The three sessions include:
  • Moving Toward Multi-Polarity and Asian Regionalism
  • Emergence of a Post-Western Financial System
  • Rethinking the East/West Cultural Divide
Our special guest for the celebration will be Dr. Kim Sung-han, the South Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  Following the conclusion of the panels, we will then celebrate with a buffet dinner reception at Allen Hall.
