2012 EAI Social Sciences Lecture Series
“The Historical Transformation of East Asia and the Korea Peninsula: from Tianxia to Complexity”
The East Asia Institute(http://www.eai.or.kr/) hosts the 2012 EAI Social Sciences Lecture Series led by Chairman Young-sun Ha, a former professor of International Relations Department at Seoul National University. Chairman Ha, who is a notable Social Science scholar in Korea, has established and consolidated profound studies on Social Sciences academia. The lecture series has the specific objective of spreading the knowledge and making academic impacts to his contemporaries. 8 lectures will take place from September 20th to November 15th on the topic of“The Historical Transformation of East Asia and the Korean Peninsula: from Tianxia to Complexity.”
Korean society is currently witnessing exhaustive structural transformations in various areas, ranging from security to economy, which has resulted from the coexistence of the past and new ruling orders. The series aims to solve the intricately interwoven issues in our community by examining the historical transition in ruling order of East Asia. The 2012 EAI Social Sciences Lecture Series will let us accurately understand the past and seek a better future of Korea with proper transformation strategy.
The lecture is free and open to the general public. The EAI will give the certificate to those who attend more than 7 lectures. The lecture will be broadcast live on the wikitree (http://www.wikitree.co.kr/), which is a social network news service.
