Dear 2012-August Graduates,
UIC would like to sincerely congratulate you on your upcoming graduation from Yonsei University and wish you all the best as you embark upon a new and exciting chapter in your lives. Please take a moment to review this guide as it contains important information about the University Commencement.
1. Commencement: Main Auditorium, 11 AM, Friday, August 31st, 2012
2. Distribution of Caps and Gowns
a. Distribution: New Millennium Hall Rm 403
Tuesday, 28 August ~ Thursday, 30 August, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
When picking up your cap and gown, don’t forget to bring your ID card.
If your friend or family is picking them up for you, they must bring your ID card.
b. If you have not returned borrowed books from library, you must return them and
receive a certificate in order to pick up your cap and gowns.
3. Graduation Album
a. Distribution Times: Student Union Building, 2nd floor lounge
Tuesday, 28 August ~ Thursday, 30 August, 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
When picking up the album, don’t forget to bring your ID card. If your friend or family is
picking it up for you, they must bring your ID card.
If your graduation photo was taken in May, you can pick up the album in February, 2013.
4. Assembly of Candidates
All graduates must be in front of the main auditorium no later than 10:30 a.m.
Please proceed under the staff’s direction.
5. Commencement Ceremony
a. Please rise when a student representative mounts the platform.
b. When the student representative receives the diploma from the president and shifts
the tassel from right to left, all graduates should shift it at the same time.
c. When the representative comes down from the platform, all graduates sit down.
6. Returning Cap, Gown & Diploma Distribution
Please return your cap and gown to your college (New Millennium Hall Rm 403)
by 4 p.m. and pick up your diploma.
7. Additional Information
a. Please use public transit since the campus is very crowded on the Graduation day.
