About The Sustainable Development and Cooperation, Integrated Social Science Division
The Sustainable Development and Cooperation (SDC) major aims to train talented individuals who will pursue careers in fields related to international development. International development encompasses a broad range of development issues such as sustainable economic growth, environmental policies, poverty reduction, inequality, human rights, health, and education. The SDC major also provides an interdisciplinary education on the diverse development experiences of the world. Students will acquire theoretical and conceptual skills that enable them to address a wide variety of development issues from the perspectives of diverse academic disciplines that include economics, politics, anthropology, and history. They will also be educated on how to develop practical field experience as a development practitioner and to play an informed role in the struggle for the improvement of human life.

The Integrated Social Sciences Division (ISSD) provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to understanding and applying the humanities and social sciences in contemporary society. ISSD students will explore interactions between civil society, finance, public policy, development, and technology. The program is well-suited for students who wish to acquire a well-balanced, multidisciplinary perspective, which blends the practical and theoretical frameworks necessary for becoming tomorrow’s leaders of society.
