2019 Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Culture & Design Management,

Underwood International College, Yonsei University

 

The Underwood International College of Yonsei University invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of Culture & Design Management (CDM) to teach at the International Campus in Songdo, Incheon, located within the greater Seoul metropolitan region.

 

We welcome applications with excellent level of English proficiency and more than 1 year of educational experience after obtaining Ph. D degree.

 

The appointment will begin from September 1st, 2019. Compensation includes competitive salary, health insurance and other benefits. Additionally, non-Korean citizens are eligible for fully subsidized housing (for up to 3 years), and a generous relocation and start-up package.

Evaluation criteria & Process

 

Stage 1) Suitability for the advertised major

: The applicant's suitability for the advertised position will be evaluated

 

Stage 2) Academic records and overall achievements

: The applicant's academic excellence, teaching or research abilities, publication records will be comprehensively evaluated during this process

 

Stage 3) Open lecture/interview

: Short-listed applicants will be invited for an open lecture and interview. Presentation skills, academic potentials and overall qualifications will be evaluated.

About Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) Field:

The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) Field focus on interdisciplinary approaches covering various field of interest from regional studies, art, business, social sciences, to humanities. Students not only specialize in their respective fields, but also learn to explore and utilize the broader perspectives and framework that are requisite in today’s workplace, whether it be the public sector, multinational corporations, NGOs, or academia.


About Culture & Design Management Major:
The Culture & Design Management (CDM) major aims to nurture global experts and entrepreneurs who can plan, produce, and distribute cultural contents through a convergence among culture, design, technology, and management. The interdisciplinary curriculum of CDM prepares students with competitive knowledge and skills required to excel in cultural industry. The graduates of CDM may pursue their careers in primarily three fields: 1) design & service planner, design consultant, or cultural contents creator in major culture-based companies, 2) creative director, game producer, or 3D artist in IT firms, and 3) brand marketer or art curator. The flexible and integrated nature of CDM curriculum allows students to choose their long-term goals as managers, designers, or entrepreneurs.
