in Integrated Science and Engineering Division (ISED)

Underwood International College, Yonsei University, South Korea

 

The Underwood International College (UIC) of Yonsei University invites applications for a full time non-tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Integrated Science and Engineering Division to teach at the International Campus in Songdo, Incheon, located within the greater Seoul metropolitan region in South Korea.

We are particularly interested in those with strong academic backgrounds and teaching interest in science-related fields including basic/applied physics, bio-convergence, nano-science and engineering, or renewable energy and environment engineering.

We welcome applications with excellent level of English proficiency, who are holding Ph.D. degree in any related academic field, more than 1 year of research or educational experience after obtaining Ph.D. degree. We expect successful candidates will teach and mentor students in English as a first language. We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills with experiences with college-level teaching. Particularly, research experiences and teaching interest with global perspectives are preferred. As part of Yonsei University’s continuing effort to increase faculty diversity, the preference will be given to non-Korean candidates.

The appointment will begin from March 1, 2021. Teaching responsibilities are typically 12 credit hours (4 classes) per semester and the successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in English. Compensation includes competitive salary, health insurance and other benefits. Short-listed candidates will be invited for presentation and interview. 2. A USB flash drive A. The Ph.D. Dissertation (PDF format) B. The List of publications and the summary of publications (MS EXCEL or MS WORD or PDF format) *Please use the attached form.

3. Research Materials A. 2 copies of List of publications (*Please use the attached form.) - Major publications (up to three) after March 2017 should be written below “Main Achievements”. B. Original or a copy of research work after March, 2017 (Research work that is expected to be published is acceptable, if provided together with documentary evidence.)

4. Two recommendation letters (from professors or professionals in the same program or field) - The university in which the applicant is applying to and department must be clearly indicated with the full name of the applicant. - It must be sealed and signed on the sealed line or completely sealed. - The recommendation letters must contain the referee's actual signature.

5. Certificate of Graduation & Transcripts from B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. (Copies are allowed, but original documents must be submitted upon request.)

• About Integrated Science and Engineering Division

The Integrated Science and Engineering Division (ISED) provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to understanding and applying bio-science, nano-technology and energy and environmental engineering. ISED students will explore interactions between bio-science, nano-science and technology, bio and chemical engineering, integrated, fusion technology and the health care industry. The program is well-suited for students who wish to acquire a well-balanced, multidisciplinary perspective, which blends the practical and scientific frameworks necessary for becoming tomorrow’s leaders of industry.
