UIC is now recruiting students who are interested in UC-Berkeley Economics Semester-Abroad Program (BESAP). We would like to encourage many of you to participate in this UIC exclusive exchange & visiting student program!
■ Program Description
BESAP provides international students with the unique opportunity to enrich their academic and cultural experience by spending one semester at the world-renowned University of California, Berkeley. Under BESAP, a select group of outstanding international students, majoring in economics in their home institution and fluent in English, spend one semester in Berkeley, taking upper level courses in the Economics department and interacting with faculty.
■ Program Period - Spring 2020, Semester: Mid January ~ Late May

■ Tuition - Students may choose to participate as VSP or SAP
- Tuition does NOT include room & board, and other fees such as student fees, enrollment application fee, etc.
- Visiting Student Program (VSP): students need to pay tuition to both UC-Berkeley and Yonsei. UIC students participating in the BESAP through VSP will be given half of the UIC tuition as a scholarship. VSP students will transfer the semester and the credits earned at BESAP.
- Study Abroad Program (SAP): students need to pay tuition only to UC-Berkeley. SAP must take a leave of absence and only the credits will be transferred.
■ Eligibility - Students must major in Economics.
- For a visiting student program (VSP), the student must have 2 semesters (1 academic year) or more left including Spring semester 2020
before graduation.
- For a study abroad program (SAP), the student must have 1 semester left including Spring semester 2020 before graduation.
※ Important Notes:
- A student who has participated in other exchange/visiting/study abroad programs for more than 1 semester cannot apply for BESAP.
- A student who have been nominated by the Office of International Affairs for other exchange/visiting/study abroad programs for Spring 2020 cannot apply for BESAP.

2. An original copy of your transcript (English version)
3. An original copy of English language proficiency test (TOEFL IBT: 90 or above/IELTS 7.0 or above)
(The TOEFL test date must be after January 15th, 2018.)
(Those who are unable to submit the TOEFL certificate cannot apply.)
※ Please indicate whether you are participating in the program as VSP or SAP.
■ Application Deadline
Please submit all the required documents to UIC office by Monday, August 16th, 4:00 pm.
■ Selection: Document Screening & Interview The selection will be(UIC econ major-5 students) is conducted by the home institution on the basis of academic excellence and English language proficiency.
