Yonsei University Health Service Center continues to provide the safest medications for the health of the Yonsei family. We are starting vaccination for the prevention of influenza this year as follows.
Influenza is an infectious disease that can be quickly spread by sneezing, coughing, and direct contact. It can damage the lungs and cause bacterial pneumonia, dehydration, congestive heart failure and can also aggravate underlying chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes.
■ Fluarix™Tetra injection – prevention of 4 types of viruses
Fluarix Tetra is a vaccine that has preventive effects against the previous known 3 types of influenza viruses with additional prevention against another B type virus. It provides direct, broad prevention of the 4 types of viruses that are known to cause most cases of influenza all over the world.
* The above vaccines are imported vaccines with no thimerosal(preservative). *

vaccines show preventive effects 2 weeks after vaccination.
Contraindications to the vaccinations are as follows.
Allergy to the ingredients including eggs, formaldehyde, gentamicin sulfate, or deoxycholic acid.
Feverish state or acute infection.
Hypersensitivity or convulsive reactions to previous vaccinations.
Guillain Barre syndrome or other neurologic side effects within 6 weeks after previous vaccinations.
