Additional University Measures Called off in Response to Eased Social Distancing Level 2 in Seoul Metropolitan Area

Yonsei University had implemented additional measures since Wednesday, September 2, in response to the government's strengthened “Social Distancing” level in the Seoul metropolitan area. Following the government’s announcement on Sunday, September 13, to ease social distancing level 2 rules in the Seoul Metropolitan area, the university has decided to call off additional measures as follows. However, as the severity of the COVID-19 situation continues, all members of the Yonsei community are strongly advised to comply with the following guidelines and observe prevention rules.

1. Guidelines

A. Reopening of Central Library and Yonsei Samsung Library: Details to be announced on the library website after Monday, September 14. B. Reopening of all spaces in the Student Union Building C. Building Entry Restriction - Please refrain from entering campus buildings unless absolutely necessary. If a visit to a building is unavoidable, make sure to contact the relevant office in advance. - Only entrants with a registered KT Telecop ID card for the building or entrants who scanned the QR code on the digital attendance checking system may access the building. Entrants must follow disinfection rules such as checking their body temperature and providing visitor information in guest books. D. Faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants are advised to work from home according to strengthened working environment measures. E. All Yonsei members should practice personal measures, such as monitoring body temperature, and get tested at a nearby screening clinic upon signs of COVID-19 symptoms.

2. Prevention Rules for COVID-19

A. Keep a distance of two arm's length from others. B. During indoor activities, ventilate the space regularly and clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. C. Wear a mask when it is difficult to keep a distance from others. D. Refrain from visiting unventilated, crowded facilities. E. Wash your hands with soap and running water for more than 30 seconds. F. Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. G. Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or tissue when coughing or sneezing. H. Avoid contact with people who show signs of fever and respiratory symptoms.  I. Check yourself daily for COVID-19 symptoms.   - Fever (above 37.5 Celcius), dry cough, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, fatigue, lack of appetite, phlegm, digestive symptoms, dizziness, runny nose, hemoptysis, chest pain, conjunctivitis, skin rash, etc. J. Refrain from unnecessary travel
