The Social Innovator Certificate Program

 

 

Underwood International College Yonsei Center for Social Innovation is offering a Social Innovation Curriculum that fosters Design Thinking, System Thinking, Ideation, Prototyping, and Implementation of Solutions to real life social problems.

All UIC students can now apply for a 19 credits Social Innovator Certificate Program with access to various curricular and extracurricular programs offered by the Yonsei Center for Social Innovation.

An Official Yonsei Social Innovator Certificate is granted upon graduation along with the Diploma.

 

Social Innovator Certificate

 

Social Innovation Major Requirement(SIMR) 9 credits

+

Social Innovation Major Elective(SIME) 9 credits

+

Holistic Education(HE) 1 credit

* ISSD and TAD students are strongly encouraged to take Social Innovation Major courses as Social Innovation Major courses are recognized as ISSD and TAD Major credits.

*The Social Innovation Major Requirement(SIMR) courses are recognized as Major credits by all TAD and ISSD Majors.

*Social Innovation Major Elective(SIME) courses are recognized by specific TAD and ISSD Majors. Some SIME courses may be recognized by more than one TAD and ISSD Major. 

CAUTION: Yonsei Portal Course Classification(MR/ME) reflects Major Classification, not Social Innovation Major Classification

Understanding the Internet-of-Things(IoT) technology and its relations to business, and encouraging students to develop social business models with full comprehension on the cutting edge technologies in IoT.

Learning the various facets of these projects, from experimental design to ethical issues to data collection and analysis.

Analytics for Social Innovation(QRM)

Introducing Analytical Tools for Social Innovation: Statistical Methodologies for machine learning tools, and Tensorflow(in development by google). Key tools in the analytical domain of, for instances, finding fake news and/or identifying spam emails.

No prior knowledge of statistics or computer programming is required.

 

Legal Approach to Health and Technology(STP&SDC)

Understanding recent developments in the fields of health and technology and exploring various legal and ethical issues regarding these developments: telemedicine, Sex selection and ethical issues, stem cell research, etc.
