Announcement: 2024-1 Graduate Thesis Submission Process

A. Eligibility:

- Those who have passed the qualification examination (comprehensive examination, foreign language examination) by 2023-2 semester
- Students enrolled in the 2024-1 semester (leave of absence students are not eligible)
- Those who can fulfill the graduation requirements, including 1 semester of DIRECTED RESEARCH 1
*note that DIRECTED RESEARCH course enrolled before passing the comprehensive exam will not be counted towards your graduation requirements.
**3rd-semester students in the Bachelor-Master's Accelerated program will need to submit a separate request file during the course registration period. Kindly note that other students will be automatically enrolled for DIRECTED RESEARCH 1. 

B. Procedure for submission and approval of Research Proposal:

- Period: Feb 15 (Thur) 2024 ~ Mar 15(Fri) 2024 (deadline cannot be extended)
- Academic portal system → Academic administration → Graduation Fulfillment → Graduation Evaluation Type → 학위논문 → Click Designation → ☆Consent to the graduate thesis ethics commitment☆ → Submit Research Proposal on Yonsei Portal → (Approval) Thesis Advisor → Submission of the approved copy of the proposal to the department office → (Approval) Department Office → (Approval) Graduate School
- Considering the time it takes for the Thesis Advisor/Department office/ Graduate School to approve the proposal, please submit your proposal well before the deadline. 
- The English name on the Yonsei portal will be used in all certificates. Please ensure that the English name on the Yonsei portal matches the English name written on your passport

C. Thesis Evaluation Committee Selection: Students submit the name list of the thesis evaluation committee to the Yonsei portal by Mar 15(Fri)

 D. Preliminary Evaluation

- Period: Mar 22 (Fri) 2024 ~ Apr24(Wed) 2024 
Since the department office has to submit the results of the preliminary evaluation by the 24th of April, students are expected to complete their evaluation by the 23rd of April.

E. Final Evaluation

- Period: May 17(Fri) 2024 ~ Jun 19(Wed) 2024 
Since the department office has to approve/submit the results of the final evaluation by the 19th of June to the Graduate School, students are expected to complete their evaluation by at least the 14th of June. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the reports will be approved on time. 

F. Submission of the final thesis (contingent on the library schedule)
- Online Submission Period: Jul 2(Tue) 2024 ~ Jul 8(Mon) 2024 (9:00am ~ 17:00 pm, except weekends)
- Hard Copy Submission Period: Jul 9(Tue) 2024 ~ Jul 15(Mon) 2024 (9:00am ~ 17:00 pm, except weekends)
*note that hard copy submissions will be made in Sinchon, Yonsei Library.
