OnDream Global Academy (OGA)

Stepping Stone for the Future Global Leaders of IOs & NGOs!

OnDream Global Academy (OGA) aims to nurture future global leaders in the field of International Organizations (IOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) by conducting intensive education on global issues such as poverty, development, human rights and the creation of international public goods.

OGA is hosted by Hyundai Motor Chung Mong Koo Foundation and organized by Ilmin International Relations Institute (IIRI) of Korea University, in cooperation with the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) and the Division of International Studies (DIS) Korea University.

 

Curriculum

(1) Lecture Programs (Spring/Fall Semester, every Friday afternoon/ each 8 weeks & 12 weeks)

Lectures by best instructors domestically and internationally such as former?current diplomat, Experienced IOs professionals, JPO participant, well-known International Organizations experts and international relations scholars.

• Liberal Arts: Basic knowledge of politics, economics, social studies, and science in preparation for the 4th industrial revolution
• Work Experience: Introduce actual experiences of diplomats and IO professionals + Mentoring Program
• Theories: Study of theories and practices of international politics and IOs by professors Reading assignments and small group discussions on weekdays


(2) Domestic Field Trip (Summer Semester/ 4 days)

Field trip to IOs, NGOs and Governmental Foreign Affairs and National Security Institutes in Korea to experience the actual field. Operate team projects based on interests after the trip.


(3) International (U.S.) Field Research (Winter Semester/ 2 weeks)

Visit major institutions leading the global industry and international political/economical order to develop global mind and professionalism.

• San Francisco
Build entrepreneurship to pioneer the era of globalization by visiting venture companies and outstanding companies such as Google and Facebook that plays a leading role in IT industry in Silicon Valley.

• New York
Visit the UN headquarters and various international organizations to learn the roles of the UN in the era of globalization and visit various NGO headquarters to understand the role of international non-government actors

• Washington D.C.
Visits major Think Tanks such as CSIS, Heritage, Brookings, located in Washington D.C., the center of world politics, and visit the World Bank and IMF headquarters.
