About Social Innovation Internship

Yonsei Center for Social Innovation provides diverse programs including social innovation related career opportunities. Students interested in social innovation and career development are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Our Sixth partnership is with WFUNA, a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating United Nations Associations. WFUNA is now looking for Yonsei students to join as Program Assistants!

 

 

About WFUNA

 

 

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations (UNAs) and their thousands of constituents. Guided by our vision of a United Nations that is a powerful force in meeting common global challenges and opportunities, WFUNA works to strengthen and improve the United Nations. We achieve this through the engagement of people who share a global mindset and support international cooperation – global citizens.

 

WFUNA's Secretariat is based at One UN Plaza in New York City and at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. We also have offices in Seoul, Korea and Brussels, Belgium.

 

 

Eligibility

The program is open to all students in Techno-Art Division and Integrated Social Sciences Division. Students who are in their final semesters are not eligible to apply.

 

Job Description

 

Program Assistant Intern(1 opening)

Status: Paid Intern

Period of Internship: 6 months (mid-August 2017- Winter Break 2018) 

Work Hours: Full time during Summer and Winter Breaks; Part-time during the semester(negotiable flexible working hours)

 

CAUTION:

1. The applicant must join WFUNA for 6 months

2. The WFUNA Intern must be registered during Fall Semester and take classes while working part-time with WFUNA

  

The program assistant will assist with the organization’s administrative duties at the office of WFUNA in Seoul. This will include the following:

 

Assisting with events management and meetings coordination

Assisting in the recruitment of interns, handling internship applications and all related documents, and liaisong with related staff or program officer

Assisting in management of receipts, invoices, expenditure reports, and other miscellaneous documentations, and with keeping the office well-organized

Answering, screening and referring phone calls, greeting visitors

Performing general office tasks as needed; other tasks as required by staff and program officers

 

 

Requirements:

Applicants must be self-motivated, self-starter, energetic and vigilant about staying on tasks.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess prior experience in office management and nonprofit work, coupled with an interest in international affairs.

Strong writing and editing skills are necessary, as well as an advanced proficiency with MS Office. Strong interpersonal skills required.

Fluency in English and Korean is required; knowledge of a foreign language(especially French and Spanish) is a plus.

Excellent networking opportunities: Program Assistants will be able to make contact with UN staff, diplomats, UNA members, academics, and NGOs in the development community, and be involved in WFUNA’s various projects in Korea

Opportunity to expand one’s knowledge on how an organization is run by dealing with various administrative work, archiving documents, and liaising with WFUNA’s main offices in New York and Geneva.
