1st TwoThirty Exhibition: The Words of Dream

When we dream, we come face-to-face with a variety of things. The subconscious part of our mind that hide deep inside can pop out and scare us, the joys of our past can be reminded, and the monster that we tried so hard to forget can swallow us whole. At times when we encounter experiences of great joy during our day, we ask ourselves “Is this a dream?” While sometimes at the face of misfortune we plead to ourselves, “I hope this is just a dream.” We call people with unrealistic goals “dreamers,” while those who have met their goals we call “people who have achieved their dream.”

Dreams are things we desire, yet things we fear; they may linger for long, but can disappear in a moment. Dreams can be whatever you want them to be. So if we approach the concept of dreams from this linguistic context, dreams can be things that only live in the ideals of one’s mind, while for others it may be things that are physically experienced and even shared. There is no boundary or standard that can differentiate between the realm of dreams and the realm of reality. No matter what shape or form of dreams it may be, we hope that we live in freedom to dream as we please.

The TwoThirty Production’s first barrier-free exhibition < TwoThirty 展: The Words of Dreams> will display the artwork of six new artists. The artists will try to express concepts like memory, imagination, sub-consciousness, ideals, and emotion in their own unique ways. Each artwork is a language of dreams used by the artist, while it may be a dream in-and-of itself to someone else. Through this exhibition, the TwoThirty Production will provide the time for spectators to comfortably and freely dream.
