Sustaining Change through STEM Education

Empowering locals through the application of sustainable appropriate technology in Tanzania

Special Lecture

This past summer, E3empower, a local social enterprise, hosted our UIC students and faculty through an intense week of field experience. Next week, we have the honor of hosting them at YIC! E3empower is an organization that is constantly working hard to serve its community. They believe that when individuals start dreaming for the community instead of themselves, they possess the power to improve the whole society. Therefore, by empowering the locals in Tanzania to become self-sustainable, E3empower hopes to create individuals who can help to develop their village’s future.

The founder and current CEO of E3empower, Mrs. Ji-young Yoon Rhee and Dr. Herb Rhee, the Managing Director of Innovative Technology and Energy Center in Tanzania, will give a talk on how providing solutions in three domains: education, energy, and entrepreneurship, can transform communities in a developing country context. We hope to see you at this special lecture!

Date & Time: Monday, 15 October 2018, at 1PM

Venue: Yonsei International Campus, Veritas Hall A, room 108

**The talk is sponsored by YCSI and Veritas Research Center of Underwood International College.
