The Opening Ceremony of A New Home for Underwood International College in Sinchon Campus: A New Beginning for UIC
On Tuesday November 14, an event that marks a new beginning for Underwood International College in its 12-year history was held. Since the relocation of UIC from the New Millennium Hall to Daewoo Annex Hall was officially decided in August, the building has undergone renovation. After the series of renovation, the UIC community came together to celebrate the opening ceremony of a new home in Sinchon Campus.
The Dean of UIC, Professor Jin-Bae Chung, expressed great excitement in his commemorative address. “If the last ten years was a period of growth and expansion, the next ten years will be a period of stabilizing both the academic and administrative structure of UIC.” He also voiced his anticipation for “intense academic discussion to fill every classroom.” The Provost, Professor Jaiyoung Lee and the Senior Vice President of International Campus, Professor Kyung Tae Lee delivered congratulatory remarks. “UIC has always been the symbol of dedication to excellent education,” commented Professor Jaiyoung Lee. “All faculty and students to be gathered in one place will allow them to have more dialogue.”
The faculty including the Dean of College of Pharmacy, Professor Gyoonhee Han and the Dean of College of Commerce and Economics, Professor Hoon Hong were also present. In addition, the staff and the student body participated in the opening ceremony to celebrate the new era of the Underwood International College.
