About Global Innovation Tour

Yonsei Center for Social Innovation is proud to present its Global Innovation Tour to Beijing. Students interested in social innovation and global entrepreneurship are strongly encouraged to apply. 

This tour will take place in Beijing, the Northern Chinese hub of technology and innovation. Tentative schedule includes visits to Inno Way, Tsinghua University X-Lab, Hujiang(Ed Tech), Tencent and JD.com. Students will get a chance to meet with professionals working in the top companies and organizations in Beijing. 

Eligibility

The program is open to all students in Techno-Art Division and Integrated Social Sciences Division who are in the Social Innovator Certificate Program. Students who are in their final semesters are not eligible to apply.

*Students with either startup experiences/interest in IT/and the Chinese market are highly encouraged to apply. 

*Proficiency in Chinese is a big plus in getting selected

Non ISSD/TAD students in the Social Innovator Certificate Program can apply as well should they fulfill the following requirements.

(1)  HASS students who are to join a TAD or ISSD major must sign and submit a pledge(attachment 1) vowing to major in ISSD or TAD, the violation of this pledge resulting in the student returning all cost covered by the Yonsei Center for Social Innovation in supporting the student’s trip and activities in Beijing.

(2)  UD/ASD/ISED students must be double-majoring in a TAD/ISSD major, provide proof of the double major from the Yonsei Portal, and sign a pledge(attachment 2) vowing to finish the double major, failure of which resulting in student returning all the cost covered by the Yonsei Center for Social Innovation in supporting the student trip and activities in Beijing.    

Application

One of the best parts of our tour is that much of the costs of the program are subsidized by Social Impact Initiative for Global Creative Talent.

Please send your resume(include a section for language proficiency) and attached application form to ycsi_pr@yonsei.ac.kr by Dec 4th. 

Results will be individually notified by Dec 7th.

EXTENDED until December 11th(Mon), Final Results announced individually by December 12th

*Expected number of participants is about 8-10 students.

*Delegation costs: 500,000~800,000 won(To be rectified soon, probably cheaper)

*This tour requires one or two students with knowledge of Chinese

Selection Criteria

The applicant should have strong interest in social innovation and global entrepreneurship.

Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team are also crucial.

Approximate dates

All participants should attend two mandatory orientations before the tour. 

Global Innovation Tour to Beijing will occur from January 29th to February 2nd.
