SAY Global Inc. is an award-winning edutech startup that connects Korean learners all over the world with trained tutors through online video chat lessons. Founded by Ivy League graduates in 2014, SAY started as a volunteer project connecting Korean seniors at a senior welfare center with Korean learners at Princeton University and Yale University. The project’s mission was to connect “Seniors and Youth” (aka SAY) through the Korean language. It was so successful that the founders decided to turn SAY into a real social enterprise, creating sustainable jobs for Korean seniors and providing high quality conversation lessons for Korean learners worldwide. Since its incorporation, SAY has won numerous awards, including Finalist at Princeton Social Innovation Competition, TOP11 at SVCA, Grand Prize Winner of LaunchCup 2017, and the Seoul City Mayor’s Award of Excellence. SAY’s goal is to create the world’s largest community of seniors and youth by connecting people from different generations and cultures. SAY’s social mission is to create more high quality jobs for Korean seniors to effectively tackle the growing aging issue in Korean society.
