Underwood International College, Yonsei University has pioneered a liberal arts model for English-based higher education in East Asia. However, a world-class education cannot be achieved only in the classroom. Students need opportunities to put into practice the research, writing, and critical thinking skills that they learn from their courses. More importantly, students must obtain the ethical responsibility to bring about meaningful change to the world through their engagement with real-life problems.

Our Social Innovation curriculum encourages experiential, project-based learning that generates concrete solutions to the many social problems around us. Design Thinking, System Thinking and courses that encourage idealization, prototyping and implementation of solutions constitute the basis of our institution.
