Dean's Talk - Fall 2018
Don't miss the opportunity to meet the Dean!
On Wednesday April 25th, the very first Dean’s Talk was held in the Eugene Lounge, Daewoo Annex Hall. Aimed to share ideas and to bridge the gap between the members of the Underwood International College, the Dean’s Talk allowed the students to voice their opinions about the college and have casual conversations with professors. The Dean, Professor Taeyoon Sung, emphasized the fact that UIC is the second largest college in Yonsei University despite being the youngest. The Dean further encouraged the students to take advantages of various UIC-Exclusive programs.
The students who could not attend the first Dean’s Talk at Sinchon Campus wished to have an opportunity to interact with the Dean at International Campus. Thus, the second Dean’s Talk and Open Discussion took place at International Campus on June 4th. Once again, students had time to freely ask questions to the Dean and have a pizza break from the final exam preparation. Shortly after the Dean’s Talk, professors introduced some of the new programs and changes of UIC. The Chair of UIC Writing Center, Professor Seunghei Clara Hong, promoted UIC Writing Center office and the Director of HASS, Professor Sam Youl Lee, explained the changes in administration structure of HASS. Lastly, the Director of ISE, Professor Jong Hak Kim, introduced the new ISE Laboratory.
A total of 110 students, faculty, and staffs participated in the two Dean’s Talks. It was a chance for the UIC community to come together and share the knowledge and insight.
