Korean Studies Minor

The Korean Studies Minor at Underwood International College allows students to take courses from one of the most comprehensive Korean Studies programs in the world. Yonsei has an illustrious tradition of pioneering the development of Korean Studies, upon which UIC takes a leading role in the development of an English language curriculum for teaching about Korea. UIC's Korean Studies Minor is designed to provide a balanced understanding of the Korean society, offering courses on all aspects of Korean Studies including but not limited to history, culture, literature, film, politics, economics, business, international relations, and globalization. As a Korean Studies minor, students will take six courses with a primary focus on Korea, one of which may be a Korean Studies course conducted in Korean.

Credit Requirements Students in the Korean Studies minor are required to complete 18 credit hours (6 courses) from the courses listed in the Curriculum and Academic Regulations, including the prerequisite courses, UIC3579 Topics in Modern Korean History or ASP2008 AS LHP: History of Modern Korea. Courses that are used to fulfill the Korean Studies minor credit requirements cannot also be used to fulfill credit requirements for another major or minor at UIC.
