Important Updates regarding Double Major / Minor in Applied Statistics forQRM Major / Double Major students

           - The purpose of this announcement is to inform QRM and UIC students about important considerations when choosing to double                  major or minor in the Department of Applied Statistics.

1. Starting in the Fall semester of 2024, only '(QRM3005) Mathematical Statistics 1' or '(QRM3004) Regression Analysis' courses offered by the Department of Quantitative Risk Management will be recognized as QRM major credits.

2. Students who enrolled in '(STA3126) Mathematical Statistics 1' or '(STA3125) Regression Analysis' provided by the Department of Applied Statistics prior to the Fall semester of 2024 will have these courses recognized as QRM major credits. Only students who meet these conditions will have the courses recognized as QRM major credits if they retake them after the Fall semester of 2024.

3. For Applied Statistics Double Major/Minor students, credit will only be recognized for Applied Statistics courses if the course was previously taken in before 2024 Fall semester below QRM Courses taken thereafter will not be recognized.

4. If students retake '(QRM3005) Mathematical Statistics 1' or '(QRM3004) Regression Analysis' offered by the Department of Quantitative Risk Management after 2024 Fall semester, it will not be recognized as major courses for the Department of Applied Statistics.
