Teaching Assistant position with Prof. Tony Qian

Spring, 2024

 qualifications

The applicant must be a Yonsei student (graduate or undergraduate). S/he should have some work experience, including experience conducting research in Korean, Chinese, and/or English. S/he must be able to write fluently in English. Ability to read Korean and Chinese is preferred. Experience in poster/web design and video editing is a plus.

 

scope of work

As an initial estimate, the TA would be asked to work during the semester until the summer break, starting on Feb 1, ending July 31. (Officially, TAs begin their work on Mar 1 and continue to Aug 31.)

 

- during the Spring semester

The TA will be asked to periodically update LearnUs. Other course-related and research-related work will be assigned as needed.

- during the summer

In July, research assistance may require locating, reading, summarizing, and/or scanning documents at libraries, and preparing electronic course readers and LearnUs.

 

renumeration

TA will get paid total of 2,000,000 KRW as a scholarship for working during the semester and summer break.  Half of the scholarship will be given in late April and the other half will be given in late June.

Short-listed applicants will be asked to participate in a 15-minute Zoom interview sometime at the end of January.

 

[General Eligibility for ALL types of TAs]

1. For Undergraduate students: GPA above 1.4

2. Note: Student cannot serve multiple TA positions at once. 

3. Ineligible applicants: 

- Graduate students on leave of absence(both Korean and international) 

- Undergraduate international students on leave of absence(due to visa issues, (Korean nationals on a leave of absence is okay))

- Any student who's status is 'graduated' or 'completed'

- For Undergraduate students: double majoring students in their last semester, military leave of absence, Students of College of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing(except for first year students)
