[Call for Student Participation] APRU International Summer Research Program cum the APRU Annual Presidents’ Meeting (Internal application deadline: 5 March 2025)
The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is now accepting applications for the International Summer Research Program (ISRP) 2025, which will be hosted by the University of California, San Diego, this summer. The 9-week program offers undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to engage in advanced research across a variety of fields, including engineering, marine sciences, biological sciences, and physical sciences. As part of the program, selected students will participate in a student panel discussion at the APRU Annual Presidents Meeting (APM) on June 24.
Yonsei University will nominate one student to APRU for selection. Further details of the program are as follows:
APRU International Summer Research Program 2025
The ISRP is a rigorous program that invites international students from partner universities to collaborate with UC San Diego faculty in leading research labs. Students will gain valuable research experience, explore San Diego, and participate in cultural, academic, and professional enrichment activities. The program culminates with a research presentation at the ISRP Research Symposium. The program is open to all disciplines. Detailed information is provided below.

Eligibility |
l Yonsei University full-time undergraduate/postgraduate students who are studying engineering, marine sciences, biological sciences, and physical sciences are welcome to apply l Students must ensure their academic background and experience align with the subject matter and pre-requisites required by specific labs, which can be found on the ISRP 2025 Mentor List l Have a good command of English |
Cost |
l Program costs of US$5,500 covering on-campus housing for 9 weeks, visa fee, laboratory fee, activities and excursion fee l The student is also responsible for air ticket, meals, medical insurance and expenses outside the program, and any other expenses not specified |
Application |
l Interested students should submit their application through Yonsei Portal Service -> International Student Exchange -> (International Department) Application for Overseas Dispatch Program from Feb 28 - 5 Mar (Wednesday). Funding Support |
l Students who are invited to participle in the student panel at the APM will receive a subsidy of US$500 from APRU, and on-campus housing offered by UCSD during 21-29 June l Yonsei University will support successful applicants with a scholarship of KRW4,000,000 (approx. half of the program cost). |
